First Christian Church is governed locally by a Board composed of elected Elders and Deacons. Our Church calls its own Ministers, owns its own property, and determines its own style of ministry. We believe in the autonomy of the local Congregation, but we also appreciate being a part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) denomination so that we may coordinate and cooperate in world-wide mission work.
Our Church Organization
An “Organization Chart” of our Church would reveal the following structure:
At the top of the chart would be Jesus Christ
Our Congregation (“the Church”) would be shown as reporting to Him.
Reporting to our Congregation would be our General Board and our Senior Minister.
Reporting to the Board would be our Associate Minister, Elders, Deacons, Cabinet,
Church Trustees, Permanent Endowment Fund Trustees, Treasurer, Financial
Secretary, Clerk and Historian.
Reporting to our Senior Minister would be our Church Administrator, Audio Visual,
Music Director, Custodians and Maintenance.
