pic LOCAL EVANGELISM

Our Local Evangelism program seeks to reach out to the Harrison area to inform residents about the Gospel and about First Christian Church.

We seek to spread God's love by working for the spiritual and physical well-being of the community. We believe that people will be drawn to our Church when they meet our friendly and caring members; become aware of the variety of programs our Church offers; and learn about our Church's emphasis on Spiritual Growth.

The purpose of our local evangelism efforts is to reveal the Gospel to the unsaved, much as the people of the early Church did. This helps us to fulfill “The Great Commission”, as stated in Matthew 28:19: "Go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit".

Also, by focusing attention on important spiritual matters, we seek to stem the tide of godlessness and sin in our society, as a whole, and to continually revive and re-educate our own Church members.

To meet these goals, all members of First Christian Church are encouraged to enthusiastically share “The Good News” of Jesus with others.

Our Local Evangelism Committee promotes personal evangelism as well as Church-wide special events and publicity. Individuals especially interested in witnessing about Christ are invited to serve on the committee.
